Thursday 13th October – bike ***** – Two rivers including lunch at Landguard – Sunny periods.

Started the day with some rain and remained cloudy until after lunchtime but we had some interesting sky’s too:) Usual morning at home doing my exercises before packing a picnic and setting off on our bikes around 12.30, first we headed to the town for a couple of things before carrying onto the prom, the sight that greeted us was amazing, the sea was like a mill pool with very light breezes with some top clouds with a band of blue out to sea, just fantastic! We then biked to the ending of the prom watching a couple of motorised surfboards out enjoying perfect conditions before continuing through Landguard to our spot on the old jetty. The picnic was delicious as usual enjoying the stunning views, Mag then noticed a tug boat spraying its fire fighting water canons near the first container ship, made our day. Then another container ship left port as the ferry was coming on, love a bit of boat action:) Well rested we set off back through the reserve with loads of rabbits whizzing about and back to the prom as the sun was starting to make an appearance! Mag continued to the end at Jacobs Ladder while I continued onto Felixstowe Ferry where the tide was very high, ideal for some nice pics including a cormorant on a pole on the jetty. I then whizzed home the short way for a cuppa and cake, top bike ride in some amazing weather:)
